People And Places Exhibit at Gallery 1448

 Posted on October 23, 2023

I’m very honored to be part of the upcoming People And Places exhibit at Gallery 1448 from November 3-26, 2023 with LuAnn Zubak, Micah Moon, and Jennifer Hogan .Opening reception is Saturday, November 3, 2023 from 6-9pm.

I’ll be exhibiting a selection of work from the Where I Am series, including some of my earliest landscapes. The Where I Am series was photographed in Keating Summit, PA over the span of 25 years. In the early 1960s, my uncle purchased a large parcel of land among the rolling hills of north-central Pennsylvania for a hunting camp. Keating Summit became a locus for family gatherings and retreats, and a touchstone for my emotional and creative evolution as an artist, wife, and human being.

Juror for Fotofoto Gallery’s 16th National Photography Competition

 Posted on February 2, 2021
FotoFoto Gallery 16th National Photography Competition

It was an honor to be the juror and curator for Fotofoto Gallery’s 16th National Photography Competition, on view in the gallery from February 4-March 6.

I had a very difficult task of selecting only 30 images, including three winners, from 667 entries. As I was curating and sequencing the exhibit, I was conscious of selecting a diverse group of images that, as a whole, tell a story about the extraordinary year we’ve experienced, and how we’ve reacted to the pandemic. As I look at the exhibit, I see overarching themes of isolation, loneliness, identity, memories, longing, beauty and, ultimately, hope. You can view the exhibit online at the gallery’s website, or an online tour of the gallery installation.
